Which project was your most successful? Describe the theme and or topic and the process you went through to complete the project. Were the choices you made regarding material, size, technique, etc beneficial to enhancing this project. Please explain.
My pen drawing i thought was one of my most successful ones. It kinda started as to just trying to remember and think my way through. As i thought more into i came up with the fantasy and dark souls. So i found a back night time back ground, an empty falling room and my favorite character in the game havel the rock. I just used the paper we were assigned to use and i believe i used .08 or .05 for the pen size. I used hatching, cross hatching, dotting, and there was one other i had used. What i benefitted from the project was learning how add depth to the picture. Also creating the right shade and amount to each part of the drawing.
Look at your body of work over the semester and choose 2 pieces that show your growth as an artist. Discuss each piece and how you grew in the following areas: application of materials, techniques and skills, artistic vision, use of the principles and elements, creativity, intuition and subject matter.
I choose my clay and my once again my pen drawing. For my clay i now understand more being a lot more cautious and when needing a lot or a little of clay and forming the shape of it. I figured out when i need a lot of water or a little water for the clay and kilning it then glazing it with two layers for a shiny color. Also i went for an abstract form on my food i combined two foods that you find in the store but that might not mix well together. Then, for my pen drawing the creative idea of it didn't take too long because i had imagined drawing that picture for awhile now and i was finally able to do it. The style i used was a corner perspective. I had used hatching, cross hatching, and dotting. The thing i liked about the subject matter was the fantasy idea, and it helped a lot because that was the only thing i could think of.
Choose 2 mini lessons that you felt were the most beneficial in your learning for that particular project. Include photos of these and explain thoroughly. Do you feel you needed more instruction for success? Explain or did you feel that the instruction given was enough to ensure success? Explain. (if you do not have a photo for) this just answer the question without one)
I really liked and enjoyed using the pastel and oil pastels. It was difficult at first but once you understand the idea it was fun. I would agree i wish that i could of gotten some more help with adding depth and being more cautious using colors and when to combine because once combined it hard to fix. But liked doing them. I'm having a hard time coming up with more answers to these questions but i do have pictures for them.
Look over the blogs of other students in our class. Choose a piece of artwork from one of your classmates that you feel is an exemplary showcase of what the project was to depict. Think about how the artist used the medium, utilized the elements of art and design principles, was original with their ideas and went beyond their comfort zone or the realm of the requirements. Make sure you have the image of their artwork along with their name (first name only) posted with this response
This one from Viri's blog. I thought this was a really cool art piece and i like how different it is. I like how the colors range and they mix really well together. I like how the colors are bold and there's personality to the picture. I think viri went out of here comfort zone because this one is different from the rest of the drawings. I do not know what medium they used but i know we used acrilic paint. (i think that's what the land scape was). Overall, i thought it was a cool and different concept overall.
